Build & Grow
A Biblically-Aligned, incorporated men's nonprofit resource dedicated to cultivating spiritually strong and successful men from among our most needing and disadvantaged.
The Initiative
Rooted in Boston, SHOW DISCIPLINE emerges as a new, non-political, incorporated, board-governed, Biblically-Aligned nonprofit men's resource — established in 2025, anticipating late 2026 full launching — dedicated to cultivating spiritually strong and successful men from among our most needing, troubled, and disadvantaged U.S. males.
Initiative is designed with prioritized interest in consumers who arrive under exceptional circumstances. Exemplary: African Americans who can trace their lineage within the United States to 1950 or earlier and who possess measurable West or West-Central African regional ancestry — a population whose relationship to historical inequities arose from centuries of systemic oppression, exploitation, and social exclusion enacted under U.S. law, policy, and social norms. The consequences of these historical injustices remain measurable across economic stability, educational attainment, housing security, incarceration, health, and civic life.
While this population is prioritized due to its unique historical experience, eligible participants may originate from any location in the United States — provided they are willing, where necessary, to relocate to Boston and commit to a five-year contractual residency to engage a holistic development process grounded in Biblically-Aligned faith, discipline, personal accountability, and communal interdependence.
Initiative History
At press, SHOW DISCIPLINE is an active initiative currently under ongoing development, supported by more than a decade of preparation, research, and conceptual development. Unlike programs built solely upon academic theory or conventional social-service frameworks, this initiative is rooted in two guiding foundations.
First are Biblically-Aligned spiritual principles, which shape the initiative's understanding of discipline, responsibility, and the intended formation of men. Second are the lived experiences of founding President Bernard Davis, whose personal journey — including adversity, reflection, recovery, and faith — provides much of the moral and operational motivation behind the initiative.
Together these elements form the philosophical and practical foundation guiding the initiative's vision and direction.
The Concern
SHOW DISCIPLINE begins with a recognition that long-standing injury and cultural decline have disrupted the traditional course through which our males historically travel from arrival in life to stable and approved men. Initiative holds that many of society's most persistent challenges begin with the condition of our most needing, troubled, and disadvantaged males — shaped by several interconnected deficiencies.
Weakened orientation toward, and relationship with, our Creator.
Limited access to quality education and sound guidance.
Insufficient financial knowledge, collateral, and economic influence necessary to build or sustain familial legacy.
Improper understanding of self and purpose.
Strained relationships with females and children, and diminished honor for marriage and its intended purpose.
Lack of meaningful preparation for the transition from youth to responsible adulthood.
When these conditions persist — individually or in combination — they gradually erode the stability of individuals, families, and communities. Where the initiative succeeds, participating males grow to manage their lives with greater competence, demonstrate reduced attraction to destructive paths, and exercise increased accountability — producing positive transformation for families, communities, and society.
Program Structure
Participants entering SHOW DISCIPLINE will commit to a structured five-year developmental agreement. During this period, individuals will pursue advancement through one of two principal pathways. Participation begins with a period of orientation followed by immediate movement toward educational or vocational enrollment, typically within six months of entering the program.
The First Path
Enrollment in a degree-granting educational program with the objective of earning a bachelor's degree or higher, building the foundational credentials for lasting professional and civic contribution.
The Second Path
Entry into a high-demand skilled trade or training program, with the added expectation that participants establish a business or organization by the third year of their commitment.
Curriculum, Services & Benefits
SHOW DISCIPLINE stands to provide participants with a structured set of services designed to remove common barriers to advancement. Initiative operates on the belief that strengthening men ultimately strengthens families and communities.
To begin, prospective applicants must be male U.S. Citizens between the ages of 26 through 62. Eligible participants may originate from any location in the United States. No guaranteed entry.
Mission · Vision · Values
The mission of SHOW DISCIPLINE is to influence our target community to alternately allow God's instruction and principles to build, guide, heal, and sustain them and their families via this resource. Through disciplined spiritual formation and practical support, this initiative seeks to provide a clear alternative to the destructive influences often dominating the social environments surrounding our disadvantaged males.
SHOW DISCIPLINE envisions becoming a transformative resource capable of strengthening male identity and restoring disciplined purpose. By introducing the males we target to authentic relationship with God, providing access to life-advancing opportunities, and removing barriers that obstruct their growth — the resulting transformation is expected to extend beyond the individual, creating a ripple effect that benefits families, neighborhoods, and communities across the nation.
This initiative approaches its work not merely as a service provider, but as a corrective influence — aimed at the build of a constructive path for our target males desiring meaningful directing, restructuring, and chance. The erosion of discipline, mentorship, and spiritual formation has contributed to cycles of instability; SHOW DISCIPLINE exists to interrupt and redirect that pattern.
